1534 GERBER KNIVES: Hinderer Rescue, Red Nylon Handle, Serrated

It took a firefighter with a genius for a knife design to conceive this feature-rich rescue knife.
Rick Hinderer did himself proud - he integrated some of the most important features of a fire fighter will need. Even while wearing turn-out gloves, using this knife will not be an issue. The knife has larger, beefier features and mechanisms built in. The red Zytel handle is easy to see and has dual steel liners for strength. It has a large clip on the back for different carrying options. A safety hook cutter flips out from the top of the handle for easy access to cut webbing, clothing or safety belts. This cutter has no sharp edges, except the recessed one doing the work, that can harm someone involved in a situation where this tool is used to free them. The end of the handle has a glass breaker. There is a slot on the back of the handle that can be used to open oxygen tank valves. The 3.5" blade has large buttons to make opening easy even with gloves and the edge is fully serrated except for the tip which is dulled so that it will not accidentally cause injury. To close the blade, a button on the handle is pulled back to easily move the liner lock to allow the blade to be shut.
And the knife comes with a 9 piece tool kit which includes 3 slot and 3 Philips head screwdrivers, 3 hex nut drivers and a right angle wrench to turn them. All of this fits into a deluxe Nylon sheath which has a pocket for the tool kit in front of the pocket for the knife, a snap/velcro closure and belt strap system that allows for vertical as well as horizontal carry.
This is no ordinary rescue knife.
