I want to take some time and tell you a little about me and how I came to start this great business.

I grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. Good ol "little rhody" as some of the smarter fellows like to call it. If you ever come on over this way you'll see why this state is made fun of so much. You can fire a 30 06 rifle at one end of the state and hit a deer in Connecticut! (Just kidding). Plus with the worst roads, some of the highest taxes and political corruption up the ying yang it's no wonder this state is at the business end of so many jokes.

Anyways, even though I was raised in the city I've always had an interest in the great outdoors. This is how my love of knives and their many uses came to me. I learned great respect for firearms and knives early on from my father. I would spend hours at my cousin’s house out in the middle of nowhere honing my ever increasing shooting skills and doing other adventurous things.

As much as I love getting away to the country I’m still a city slicker at heart and this brings up yet another fantastic use of knives. Self defense! Since the part of Providence I’m familiar with isn’t known as the best place to raise your children it pays to know how to take care of yourself. Getting a concealed carry permit for firearms is next to impossible in liberal Rhode Island so the next best thing is carrying a good tactical folder on you at all times.

Fast forward a little bit in time and I find myself enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After making it through boot camp I went to Pensacola, Florida to learn the fine art of fixing electronic systems aboard the mighty fighter jets that protect this great country of ours. Aviation Electronics Technician was my formal job title. The rest of my time in the navy was spent on a total of three aircraft carriers, USS Ronald Reagan, USS Dwight D Eisenhower and USS Theodore Roosevelt. Aboard the Roosevelt I took part in a six month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. To sum up what we did we pretty much bombed the crap out of the sub humans called terrorists. I'm extremely proud of my service in the navy and always will be. If you are or were in the uniformed services I salute you and hope other people do as well. In my opinion we are an under appreciated group of people who deserve a lot more respect.

After my honorable discharge from the navy I worked a few jobs that were pretty much dead end. Since I still had my love of knives in me I decided to turn my passion into a business that could benefit all people that have the same passion for high quality, brand name knives. While doing some research into the other online knife retailers I noticed that some of these places had extremely low prices on so called new, brand name knives. Well, after learning more about wholesale and talking to some close friends in the knife industry I learned most of these dealers get their knives at wholesale liquidations, which means you run the potential risk of purchasing 2nd hand knives and, quite possibly, counterfeit knives. I'm not saying all online knife retailers are doing this. A lot of these businesses are reputable and care about the knife community. They just don't realize where their suppliers get their merchandise. Some people are fine with this. They want a knife and that's it. People like me and you, though, want a knife that's brand new and top of the line. We are knife connoisseurs so to speak. It's very difficult finding legitimate suppliers. Most are phonies to be quite honest. That's why I did extensive research to find the best suppliers that carry only brand new, legitimate, brand name knives. How many sources can say they are backed by eBay and are members of the better business bureau. You don't get those kinds of credentials by being shady about how you do business.

So that pretty much sums up how Razor Sharp Knives came into existence.
